Abstract of St Lawrence Thanet Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Cristyn HOWGHLOTT of St Lawrence Thanet 22 Dec 1499

Cristyn HOWGHLOTT, widow of John HOWGHLOTT the elder of St Lawrence in Thanet, 22 December 1499.
Buried in churchyard.
High altar for tithes two shillings. Reparation of the Rodelofte in the church 16d. To each Light of which I am a Sister 4d.
Stephen TERRY have my brass pot with two legs, a pan of 18 gallons and a cow.
Joane, daughter of Stephen TERRY a ewe, pewter platter and dish.
John HOWGLOTT have a pan of 16 gallons, a brass pot with three legs, two pewter platters, a dish sawser, candlestick and lavor of laten, green coverlet, two pairs of sheets, two old blankets, bolster, white testor, nine copps of barley, three copps of wheat, table cloth, two ewes and a cow.
Roger HOWGLOTT have a pan of seven gallons, brass pot at the Dane in the hands of Nicholas PAWLYN, pewter platter and dish, old blanket, old pair of sheets, three bushels of wheat, two bushels of barley, and one ewe.
Alice ESTON have a pair of sheets, pillow, old blanket.
Nicholas, son of Stephen TERRY have half an acre of land which I bought of Robert BARNARD, when Nicholas is of lawful age.
Executors – Stephen TERRY and John COPYN have all residue for my soul.
Witnesses – Sir Nicholas FOOKS, vicar, Richard BENETT, Richard PIERS, Thomas ?HOLM, William at STONE.
