Abstracts of Littlebourne Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of William RIGDON of Littlebourne 16 October 1518

William RIGDON of Litleborn, 4 September 1518.
Buried in the Church of Litilborne before the window of St Dunstan, and to the making of the same window, and for a mass book 40s. to be paid out of my lands at Hards (sic).
To Litleborne church for my tithes a calf.
The Herse Lights be new sticken against my month’s day.
To poor people yearly for ten years a bushel and half of wheat, and two bushels and half of malt, made into bread and ale.
Wife Juliane all household stuff for her life, then to my two daughters. Also wife have 40s. yearly.
Son Stephen a cow, my horse or 20s. when son is 16.
Daughter Joane £3.6s.8d. at her marriage. Daugher Mabell £3.6s.8d. at her marriage.
Residue after paying debts, etc. to sons Thomas and William equally, my Ex’ors.
My lands in Litleborne and Hards to my three sons Thomas, William and Stephen equally, paying to their mother 20s. yearly from my Littleborne lands, and 20s. from my Hards lands.
Witnesses – Sir Stephen WIKHAM, vicar there (1504-24), John DALE, John PARKER.
